Drink in History

About Our Building: Our brewery and brewpub are located in an award-winning, lovingly restored mercantile building that dates to 1850. Our beautiful dining room features an open kitchen and an octagonal bar surrounding an antique grain hopper. Our covered outdoor patio is surrounded with cedar beams and has heaters over each table for the cooler months. It’s the perfect space to relax with friends, family, and a cold pint!

Join us for HOPPY HOUR on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 5 to 6 PM and enjoy $1 off pints and appetizers.

How Our Service Works: Choose a table for your party, then place your order at the bar. We’ll give you a buzzer to let you know when your food is ready to be picked up at the kitchen counter. You can run a tab and return as many times as you like to add to your order; when you’re finished, just go to the bar to check out.

Reservations and Groups: We take reservations only for parties of 6-12. Tables are reserved for a 90-minute block. Reserved tables are held for up to 15 minutes past the reserved time; after that they are released to walk-ins. To inquire about reserving for a group, please leave a message at 518-303-8080 or email us at info@roejanbrewing.com.

Dogs: We love dogs, and your pups are always welcome to join you in any of our outdoor spaces. (The Columbia County Department of Health does not permit dogs indoors, unless they are service animals.) Our patio has a roof and is heated in the winter, and we provide dog bowls and outdoor water taps. You can purchase a plain “pup burger” patty, dog treats, and dog “beer” (chicken, veggie, or beef broth) at our counter so your furry friends can join in the fun!

Kids: For the comfort and safety of our guests and staff, we ask that children sit at the same table as their parents, and that parents accompany their children at all times whether they are inside or outside our brewpub. Please be mindful of their behavior and noise level to help us ensure a pleasant environment for all. Because a large volume of guests and staff are constantly walking through our property, we cannot allow running, throwing balls or other objects, or drawing on the sidewalks. Need a place for the kids to stretch their legs? The Roeliff Jansen Park (just south of us on Route 22) has a play area, open fields, and extensive walking paths with views of beautiful rolling hills.

Brewery Tours: Available by appointment. Contact us via phone or email (see below) to schedule.

Questions? Phone 518-303-8080 or email us at info@roejanbrewing.com.

History

When you visit us at 32 Anthony Street, you’re stepping into history. Our building dates to 1851, when it was built by Joshua Bulkeley to house the Hillsdale Mercantile Association. Since then it has been home to numerous businesses, including multiple general stores, a shirt factory, a beer bottling operation, a farm and feed supply store, a pop-up gallery, lumber storage…and now a brewery.

Our hops need to be picked ASAP! Join us on Saturday, 9/14 and help us get 'em off the vines so we can get 'em in some BEER! Picking starts at 12:00 outside the beer garden, lasts until we're done. No ladders involved, but you'll definitely want gloves for this (bring your own or we'll provide them). Whether you drop in for a short spell or go the long haul, we'll be grateful for your presence!

(Due to the "stickiness" of the hops this activity is not suitable for kids, although they're very welcome to observe.)
