Bob Stump is a songwriter and performer raised in the suburbs of NYC. His music is a hybrid of Americana sounds, blending bluegrass, blues, country, rock and jazz. The traditional old school music seems to fit the stories of his songs — you’ll hear the spirit of Bill Monroe, DocWatson, Merle Travis, Big Bill Broonzy and other roots musicians. His song, “The Rain Came Down,” won first place for the instrumental category in The New England Song Contest. In his early days he won flatpick guitar contests, and he continues to burn it up on stage. Virtuoso playing, story telling and showmanship set his band apart.
