Hot Chestnut performs swing and early jazz with Mark Phillips on guitar, Pete Toigo on clarinet, and Silvain Castellano on bass, with special guest Brad Lail on washboard.
Mark Phillips is a jazz guitarist and vocalist based in Great Barrington, MA. His repertoire draws from the Great American Songbook and the music of Django Reinhardt. He loves to play solo jazz guitar, duo ensembles, and with a full band whenever possible on both electric and fully acoustic archtop guitars.
You can hear him play as South Street Swing with musical collaborator Maggie McRae and occasionally with the Lucky 5 and other jazz musicians in the Berkshires.
